Blanched Almond Meal
Blanched almond meal is mostly used in baking, particularly as a flour substitute for those with gluten sensitivity or intolerance, or for those looking for a high protein flour replacement. Whatever you are baking, be it a cake, biscuit or muffin, using blanched almond meal results in a super moist texture and delicious nutty flavour.
The meal is often used as an alternative gluten free thickener for making gravies, and also adds extra nutrition & flavour to smoothies.
Blanched Almond Meal differs from Natural Almond Meal simply in that it is the end product of ground blanched almonds – almonds that have had their skins removed, hence the lighter colouring.
