Blanched Almond Meal
The product of ground blanched almonds (almonds that have had their skins removed), blanched almond meal is mostly used in baking, particularly as a flour substitute for those with gluten sensitivity or intolerance. It also makes a great alternative thickener for gravies, and adds extra nutrition & flavour to smoothies. Baking with blanched almond meal produces deliciously moist cakes and cookies.
High in protein and fibre, blanched almond meal is a rich source of Vitamin E, an important antioxidant for protecting cells from damage. It is rich in beneficial mono and polyunsaturated oils, a great source of the minerals calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, zinc and vitamins B1, B2 and B3.
