Buckwheat Pasta Spirals
Our buckwheat pasta spirals are a delicious tasting gluten free alternative to regular pasta, having the earthy flavour that buckwheat is well known for. Contrary to its name, buckwheat is of no relation to the wheat grain, belonging itself to the seed family and so it is free of gluten and perfect for anyone suffering from coeliac disease or who may have a level of gluten intolerance or sensitivity.
A popular favourite amongst our gluten free pastas, our buckwheat spirals go well with a simple basil pesto (add some extra herbs), or a more traditional Italian style tomato sauce such as a napoletana or arrabiatta sauce. One recipe we love instore combines aldente buckwheat spirals with olive oil, salt and pepper, freshly chopped cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives and fresh rocket and basil. Delicious and simple and great for the warmer months.

Buckwheat pasta spirals are an excellent source of manganese, fibre and the vitamins B2, B3 and B5. A good source of phosphorus, copper, magnesium, iron, zinc and protein, they also contains the antioxidant Rutin, which also plays a role in reducing inflammation in the body. Buckwheat is also high in the essential amino acids Lysine, Methionine and Tryptophan and low in fat.
