Dry Roasted Almonds
Our dry roasted almonds are super crunchy, delicious and a favourite in our store. Nutrition information of these almonds are similar to raw almonds and unlike some other roasted almonds, ours haven’t had exposure to unhealthy oils, they are simply whole raw almonds exposed to dry heat.
Almonds have always been a favourite in Australia and are grown mainly in Victoria, South Australia and NSW and interestingly are part of the rose family, as are peaches, plums, cherries and apricots.
Dry roasted almonds maintain the fibre, protein and nutrients of raw almonds although the Vitamin E content is reduced due to the heating process. These almonds are known for their high magnesium content, which is an important mineral for blood sugar balance, energy production and good moods and is involved in over 300 different processes in the body. Almonds are also a great source of calcium, iron and potassium.
The dry roasting of the almonds creates a much stronger flavour than the subtle taste of raw almonds and the roasting makes them easier to digest then when raw. The crunchy texture makes them great in salads and tabbouleh and when blended they make fantastic natural almond butter. They can enrich the taste of homemade granola and homemade muesli bars and are delicious chopped on top of oats served with coconut yoghurt and drizzled with pure maple syrup.

A high fibre, high protein nut, almonds are a rich source of Vitamin E, an important antioxidant for protecting cells from damage. They are rich in beneficial mono and polyunsaturated oils, a great source of the minerals calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, manganese, zinc and vitamins B1, B2 and B3. B- vitamins are an important factor in energy production and in proper nervous system function.
