Organic Toasted Black Sesame Seeds
Organic Black Sesame Seeds offer a rich source of nutrition as well as being super delicious.
Their appearance is similar to the tiny tear shape of the white sesame seed but with each having a distinctly different flavour and nutritional profile. Being slightly bitter in flavour, black sesame seeds are said to be more suited to savoury dishes although they can also be found in some Eastern inspired sweets.
Roasted at 100’C for 2 hours.
In the Kitchen:
In much the same way as white sesame seeds, the black sesame is traditionally used in baking breads and savoury pastries, but can also be used very creatively in salads or desserts. We recommend combining them with toasted sunflower kernels and pepita seeds along with some warming spices (such as cumin and coriander) to make your own spicy toasted seed mix for sprinkling over cooked meats, tofu or salad.
