Organic Cacao Butter (500g)
Our Organic Virgin Cacao Butter comes from Loving Earth Chocolates and is made from fairly traded criollo cacao from Satipo, Peru. The butter is made by pressing the raw Cacao nibs, preserving the full vitality of the cacao bean. Cacao butter contains oleic acid, a fat that plays a role in heart and brain health, and it also contains vitamins K and E.
You can use cacao butter as a base to make your own healthy chocolate recipe containing just the butter, organic dutch cocoa, honey and vanilla.
Try these portions: 1 cup cacao butter, 1 cup dutched cocoa powder, 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup and 1 teaspoon vanilla essence. Heat the butter until melted and then add the rest of the ingredients. Add extras here if you feel such as chopped nuts or rose petals to get really creative. Pour into moulds and allow to set for at least 6 hours room temperature.
Cacao butter is also a delicious addition to homemade ice-cream, raw cakes and slice recipes.
