It is a pale greenish white heart shaped seed with a mild nutty flavour that is super packed with nutrition. These days buckwheat is a favourite amongst may vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free eaters alike due to it being a high source of amino acids, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants – all with relatively few calories and practically no fat. Hulled buckwheat is traditionally used as a porridge or toasted as a crunchy addition to cereals and or baking.
