Rolled Oats are perhaps the most well known and loved breakfast cereal around. For many years they have been served up on tables around the globe and celebrated not only for their taste, but also for their nutritive properties as well. These include promoting healthy digestion and regularity, managing high blood sugar and lowering blood cholesterol. Rolled oats are also known to support a healthy heart.
Our organic rolled oats are Australian grown, produced by dehusking and slightly rolling the grain. Through no further processing or pre-cooking, the nutritional properties of the whole grain are retained
Eat as a porridge all year round or add to your homemade muesli throughout the warmer months. For perfectly cooked oats use 2 cups of water for every 1 cup of uncooked rolled oats. Bring the water to the boil in a large saucepan and cook for 5-10 minutes or until soft. Add a sprinkle of your favourite nuts or seeds and a spoonful of honey. Rolled Oats make a healthy yummy addition when baking biscuits and muffins, and are most notable in the popular Anzac biscuit.
