Organic Spelt Grain
Spelt grain has become a popular alternative to wheat over the past few decades being used to make bread and other cereals. Spelt is said to be easier on digestion due to the lower gluten contain of the grain. As more and more people are dealing with gluten sensitivity, spelt offers a great alternative to wheat in both the grain and flour form, and although it does still contain gluten, it seems to be tolerated more easily than wheat.
Cooked spelt grain can be added to soups, salads and casseroles for extra nutrition.
Cooking Spelt Grain:
Cooking the spelt grain is simple following the 1 cup grain to 2 cups water and cooking for 45-50 minutes. We recommend soaking overnight before cooking. Cooked spelt grain can be added to soups, salads and casseroles for extra nutrition.
