Organic Spelt Pasta Elbows
Our Organic spelt pasta elbows are made in Australia from the well established L’Abruzzese Pasta Company that has been making quality artisan pasta in Australia for over 3 decades.
Using a softer flour in the preparation process, the pasta takes less time to cook and is more easily digested then regular pasta. L’Abruzzese uses only quality Australian flours that are 100% certified organic with NASAA – National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia.
Spelt is a super grain packed full of great nutritional benefits. It has a wholesome nutty flavour which works brilliantly for pasta. L’Abruzzese spelt pasta used a combination of 50% wholemeal spelt and 50% white spelt flours to give a rich and balanced flavour.
Spelt pasta elbows are delicious with a simple tomato based pasta sauce. They are also a great alternative to use in making a healthy mornay style pasta bake.

Spelt is high in carbohydrates, but the very high levels of protein (21% of your daily recommended intake) and dietary fibre (30% in a single serving!). Spelt also contains significant levels of iron, copper, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, selenium, niacin, thiamine, vitamin B6 and folate. Spelt is said to support in regulating metabolism, lowering blood sugar, and reducing cholesterol levels in the body.
